“An honor and privilege to stand here at this film festival its inarguably one of the most important film festival in this country because it aloud us to see ourselves in a manner that usually we never do and to joanelle and everyone who has made it possible for us to be here tonight I thank them from the bottom of my heart.” stated Edward James Olmos.

Highlights:
“All three of us were in Powwow Highway, me as AIM Activist Buddy Red Bow, Joanelle Romero as Buddy’s sister Bonnie Red Bow, and John Trudell as Buddy’s antagonist on the res, Louie Short Hair. Mr. Trudell, of course, was in fact an AIM Activist in real life, and he was strongly considered for the role of Buddy. He is a man I admire profoundly. His poetry and his music are singularly powerful, and his willingness to take on great risk for the sake of justice — to stand up in harm’s way and to speak truth to power — is simply exemplary. It was an honor to be share time and space with him again, and a happy coincidence that I wore a Jackson Browne T-Shirt to the event, since JB has been a critically important man in both of our lives. This was a night I’ll never forget” – A Martinez.
Performances by Kai Clark sang “Silver Raven” in honor of his dad the late Gene Clark (The Bryds), the comedy of JR Redwater; Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne), Marcus Nand (Rod Stewart), Paul Blazek (actor/drummer), Danny Saber (Ozzy, Madonna) in honor of the late Randy Castillo (drummer Ozzy Osbourne, Lita Ford, Motels, Mötley Crüe); Crazy Dog Society Larry Ground in honor of the Late Misty Upham, and the Arapho Nation Traditional Dancers & Singers from the Wind River Reservation opened the show.
